About the maker: Our Welsh tapestry blankets are woven in a traditional woollen mill in Ceredigion. In fact, this is one of the last mills that is water powered! This picturesque stone mill has been run by the same family across four generations, and was built in the 19th century. It is the last continuously water driven woollen mill in Wales. The waterwheel drives line shafting through the mill, with a direct drive to carding and spinning machinery. A generator driven from the line shaft is used to power two weaving looms. Each blanket is carefully made using traditional methods & skills passed down through the generations, on dobcross looms.
