Llyn y Fan Fach means 'little lake near the peak'. It is nestled in between high ridges within the Black Mountain area in Carmarthenshire. The waters are deep and cold and a dark blue/grey in colour, although this can change according to the weather and light conditions. There is a folk tale associated with the lake, surrounding the Lady of the Lake who arises from the waters and marries a local farmer.
