Wood and Weave
Wood and Weave
Daniel Harrison designs and creates furniture from his workshop located a short drive from the stunning Brecon Beacons mountain range and the beautiful Gower Peninsular coastline. Daniel uses a combination of traditional hand tools alongside modern digital machinery, essential for the precision required to make contemporary fine furniture.
Kim works with several woollen mills in Wales to design and source her fabrics. Weaving takes place using traditional looms which are over 100 years old, and all fabric is made with 100% wool sourced in the UK.
Wool fabric is naturally fire retardant and hard wearing, making it an ideal choice for use on furniture. Kim is passionate about fabric design and loves the natural way that her fabric combines with the local wood to stunning affect.
Daniel uses native and sustainable woods for this collection, often using trees that once stood within a 15-mile radius of his local sawmill. He works closely with foresters and timber merchants to personal hand select the material for this project.
His deep respect for wood ensures that it’s natural beauty is celebrated and lives on in a new form for future generations. Our collection is made from local hardwoods including oak and ash. Once ordered, we will be able to provide you with information about the particular tree from which the timber for your furniture is derived, including location.
